Jewelry Care

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Remove any jewelry before going to sleep, showering, or before participating in any physical activity. Exposure to certain chemicals or environments can compromise the integrity of your jewelry: perspiration (sweat), perfumes/colognes, cleaning products, chlorine, salt water, and silver polishes, etc. Remember to always store your jewelry away from any exposure to sunlight and warm places. Also, do not store your jewelry in a bathroom or in humid places.

STERLING SILVER:

Sterling silver can lose its shine over time when exposed to the outdoors. Tarnishing is a natural process that can be easily fixed by washing it with a special silver product and a soft cloth.

GOLD PLATED:

Our 925 Sterling Silver jewelry is plated with 3 microns of 18-carat yellow gold. It is important for you to know that our gold plating is of high quality, as are all the materials we use in the manufacture of the pieces. This makes the gold plating resistant. Likewise, Purpurita Design does not guarantee that its gold-plated jewelry will last forever. For its good conservation, we always recommend removing your jewelry when: showering, exercising, bathing in the sea, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, using perfumes, creams and chemical products. Keep in mind that the pH of your skin can also influence the state of conservation of your jewelry.

Jewelry care is essential to keep your jewelry looking as new as the first day. You have to take special care with gold-plated silver pieces. Gold-plated pieces are, by default, more fragile and susceptible to losing color over time. The speed at which this color disappears depends on multiple factors such as the use of chemical products on the skin, the level of body sweat or even the PH level of each person's skin. For this reason, it is especially important to take proper care of your gold-plated jewelry, or, if your experience tells you that it does not last, it is preferable that you choose the jewelry in its silver version.

STAINLESS STEEL PARTS:

Stainless steel is a stronger material than silver, but it needs proper care to maintain its properties. Avoid exposing your jewelry to soap, creams and perfumes, as these will make your pieces lose their shine and initial color. You can keep your stainless steel jewelry clean from dust and dirt by using a soft cloth, rubbing it carefully with a little warm water and soap.

These pieces are waterproof, so their gold plating requires less care than silver.
